In a galaxy far, far away...

Updated: May 29, 2022

Disney has just released the trailer for their new immersive experience, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, launching in 2022. If you've been living outside the Outer Rim and cut off from comms, this is the Star Wars hotel you may have heard whispers about.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is a 2-night experience, not just your average hotel stay. Think more along the lines of a cruise, with food and entertainment included and you have a 'shore excursion' off the ship. The immersive experience begins at the terminal, located within the Walt Disney World Resort, where you will board a launch pod that will take you to the starcruiser.

What to expect onboard

You will stay 2 nights in a starcruiser cabin - there are 3 classes of cabin - with meals and drinks included (except alcoholic beverages and specialty drinks). You will also be treated to entertainment, including Sabacc games, Jedi training, and more. Feel like getting into the story even more? You will get the opportunity to assist the Resistance with activities and missions throughout your cruise as well! This is not mandatory though and you can get involved as much or as little as you like. Your cruise also includes a planetary excursion to Batuu (and the rest of Disney's Hollywood Studios), lunch at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo in Batuu.

To aid in keeping the experience as immersive as possible, guests are encouraged to dress in their best Star Wars garb. It is not included so you will need to bring your Jedi robes and other intergalactic finery from home. If you'd rather be comfy in your Earth clothing, that's more than fine too! If you like, you can even take part in the Outer Rim Regalia parade on the final night.

Food is available onboard and is included in your fare. The Crown of Corellia Dining Room is where you'll be able to get your breakfast and lunch, including a variety of basic beverages like coffee, tea, and blue milk! On the first night, your dinner will take place in the Crown of Corellia Dining Room where you'll dine on enticing and colourful food and be entertained by a galactic superstar. For dinner on your second night, you'll sample many courses from across the galaxy in the Taste Around the Galaxy experience.

Here is a sample itinerary of what may happen onboard:

So, how much will this cost?

That's always the big question right? Prices will vary depending on the cabin you choose, time of the year, day of the week and how many people are in your cabin. As it gets closer to launch more pricing options will become available, however Disney has released the following sample prices.

It is a little on the pricey side but when you add up everything you get included, and the interactivity of the experience then it's not all that bad. I, for sure will be giving it a try once it has launched and borders open!
